Zapbots the Beginning
A spaceship with a futuristic device lands in a young boy's backyard, asking him to rebuild a long lost race of robots.
Synopsis
Millions of years ago in a galaxy somewhat far away, robots that could change their body shape to vehicles are on the verge of extinction. The Junkicons are about to destroy the last remaining Zapbots. As a last resort to preserve their kind they send a small orb, the Zapbot Matrix of Leadership into space to search for a being intelligent enough and creative enough to rebuild their race.
The rocket ship with the Matrix lands in the backyard of a human called Anthony Anselmo on Earth and proceeded to provide him with superior knowledge. He goes to a secret location in the Rocky Mountains and starts to rebuild the robot race. Anthony creates the initial Zapbots Botimus Prime, Boaty, Flier, Hightone, Scan, Speedy, Timetravel, Click and Superrobot.
After he finishes building the Zapbots they are attacked by their ancient enemies the Junkicons. Anthony is severely wounded in battle forcing him to have his body parts replaced. He is also provided with a special armor called an X-O Suit to help the Zapbots in battle.
When the Zapbots head out for their first trip they land on the ancient Zapbot homeworld of Gearatron. There they find ancient Zapbot bodies and rebuild them to create the Combatabots, the first Gestalt team.
Several months later, when Anthony and the Zapbots are away on Earth the Junkicons make an all-out assault on Gearatron, but Anthony and the Combatabots return to turn the tide in the battle. Anthony battles the evil Junkicon Messy but is fatally wounded leading to his death.

Production notes
- In the Classic Saga, this was the fourth story to be written, after Zapbots the Movies I, II, and III. I believe that had to be around 1985?
- For the revamp Saga, this was originally written in 1994, this was the first rewrite of the series when I started my freshman year in college.
- Third pass to provide extra details and upgrades that happened in 2021.

- Unknown at this point but I'm sure something will show up.
Real-life references
- I kept the information vague but Earth events happened in my hometown of Chesterland, Ohio.
- I don't know where the secret location is, but I wanted it to be in the Rocky Mountains, somewhere in Colorado.
Continuity and plotting errors
- None yet as this is a first re-re-write.
Other trivia
- The final battle does borrow a bit from Transformers the Movie. What can I say? The battle is awesome.
