As Anthony is reborn, strange creatures from another Universe threaten the Earth.
Synopsis
As Anthony's ceremonial coffin flies through space, a nearby star's explosion causes his body to be rejuvenated and he reawakens. Noticing he is reborn, he heads back to Earth to meet up with his Zapbots.
The Zapbots are bewildered beyond belief but elated that their leader and friend is alive again. As Anthony gets settled in he visits friends and family to bring them up to speed with his adventures.
Meanwhile in the far reaches of the universe the Junkicons open a seal that covers a riff between space and time. As the seal is ruptured, out from within it, three Sun Monsters fly out, destroying the Junkicons and head towards Earth.
As the Zapbots work to remedy a terrorist situation the Sun Monsters land on Earth and began absorbing humans, morphing them into monsters themselves. The Zapbots learn that through use of their Ice Ray weapons, they can revert humans back to normal. However it quickly becomes clear that the Sun Monsters are transforming humans into monsters, quicker than the Zapbots can revert them back to normal.
After a battle at sea where Duplaflex is called in to assist, the original three Sun Monsters head towards a nearby Nuclear Plant. Anthony follows them to confront them only to find they have the ability to merge and become even more powerful. Unable to stop the now more powerful Sun Monster the Matrix of Leadership provides the necessary power to detour the attack, forcing the Sun Monsters to fly out of Earth's atmosphere into Earth's sun.

Production notes
- This was originally called 'Zapbots The Movie' as if this was going to be my only story. Oh how I wish I had foresight in 1984.
- In the Classic Saga (1984?), this was the first story to be written, don't ask me why I don't remember. The only thing I know is it came from a dream I had.
- In the original story I rescued a girl... ewwww... get rid of that rubbish in the rewrite (1994).
- This is the first appearance of Pliers and Roberta. In the comics, Pliers was one of the original characters created.
- Third pass to provide extra details and upgrades happened in 2021.
