Description - Botimus Prime is the second in command of the Zapbots from [[Shortstop]]. His bravery is a constant encouragement to others as he has been victorious in numerous battles. One of the first Zapbots created, he was specifically designed to lead the next generation of Zapbots into the battlefield.

In the early years, Botimus Prime provided the bridge between the human world and the rebuilding of Gearatron. As a constant protector of Anthony, he would also provide guidance on how to deal with political situations till Anthony became of age and could effectively lead the team on his own.

His Battle Deck provides first aid for wounded soldiers on the battlefield (and is also used for a recreational center from time to time.)

Strong and brave and extremely friendly he has grown into a true leader after taking time to find himself over many years.

During the Transformers pilot, there was an orange truck that was scanned for Optimus. I always thought it would be funny if that was a Zapbot named Botimus Prime. Funny years later I see this name being used on various websites as it's pretty obvious someone else would come up with the same idea for the name. When I first started writing him I had him very grumpy and depressed as he represented that side of my personality. As time goes on, he becomes a strong leader.

Description: Lightspeed was the personal valet and shuttlecraft of Zetbedan Ambassador Dan-DeLion. Wherever he went, Lightspeed followed. Lightspeed had ancient ties to the DeLion Aristocratic House long before "First Contact" between Humans and the Zetbedii. While serving many decades as a loyal servant of the DeLion House (mostly in relative obscurity), Lightspeed became an intricate member of the Zetbedan delegation sent to Earth, as Ka'Thyn-DeLion served as the Zetbedii's first ambassador to Earth. When her son Dan-DeLion took her place, Lightspeed naturally became his personal valet and transport to and from his duty post. Lightspeed rarely spoke while in Zapbot Mode, often relying on exaggerated expressions, gestures, or the "colorful interjections" of his co-companion Scoot-Along to speak for him. Silent, somber and studious of his duties to the Ambassador, Lightspeed was reported to frequently tell "outrageous and raunchy stories" after imbibing copious amounts of Energon, as told by Scoot-Along. Given his penchant for telling "tall tales", the veracity of this assertion is questionable at best.
Nevertheless, Lightspeed had an indulgent temperament in more than one sense of the word. It was often expressed in the way he patiently catered to the (sometimes exasperating) whims of Ambassador DeLion, as well as his quiet indulgences in the "perks" of his employment.
Lightspeed was a tall, pale Zapbot with faded blue-white armor and beady purple eyes, and a pair of fin-like ears. He moves smoothly and deliberately. Quite a ghost figure this silent Zapbot. Lightspeed rarely spoke save in sign language and gestures, a skill at which he was quite adept. At nearly 7 meters in height, Lightspeed possessed strength superior to that of most smaller Zapbots but rarely exerted this unwillingly on others.

Wheelrun was Anthony's car during this period and provided a watch over him during this time. Due to the top-secret situation, he rarely got the chance to transform and stretch his legs.

Recorded as the fastest Zapbot on the ground Vision has incredible abilities to blast past enemies and foes. His extra power exoskeleton provides him the ability to move with amazing speed. This combined with his excessive fast-talking has the tendency to produce some frustration with other Zapbots around him. Sadly, his need to constantly impress others tends to do the exact opposite.

Tiretracks is the silent type. Rarely seen and often in the background he is the metallic wallflower at the office holiday party.
A good warrior and huge human football fan very little is known about him except it is rumored he saved [[Anthony]]'s life once. As it was discovered he preferred male companionship with his alternate programming he has become an educator to those on Gearatron with his partner [[Tiremarks]]. In his downtime he is very into primitive oil painting taught to him by [[Anthony]]/[[Shortstop]].

A great fighter on the battlefield when he doesn't let his vanity get in the way. Tiremarks is all about his looks and how he is perceived by any species mechanical or organic. Very self-concerned with himself, he is known to have various competitions with [[Timetravel]]. He is one of the first Zapbots to have alternative programming for companionship with the same gender. Ever since 'coming out of the garage' has become a spokesperson for education. Battle-wise his surface-to-air missiles have been known to disable the enemy air units with ferocity.

A combination of warrior and vanity, Timetravel holds himself in high regards due to his special ability which is rarely used. Always concerned with his appearance (which can become a distraction), he is always checking his paint job. Beyond all the vanity, he has an especially positive spirit always looking over his brother Speedy on and off the battlefield.

Was always a fan of Sunstreaker, mostly because of his bright yellow appearance appealed to me as a kid (and let's be honest, he was a bit gay.) Timetravel was one of the first Zapbots drawn and as such was an integral part in the stories. He actually played a very pivotal role in a lot of the adventures, and especially anything that involved Time-travel. Loved the car style, to me it probably looked like a Delorian so as such he have such abilities.

Always itching for battle Terrain is one unstoppable force once he sets his mind to the goal. As a ground trooper for many years he was the last to come off the battlefield making sure the enemy is completely vanquished. Positive in energy and spirit to both Zapbots and humans alike, he supports his best friends [[Botimus Prime]] and [[Rup]]. Although he sometimes acts like a maverick he will always logically pick the most morally correct action.

When I originally drew him back in 1990, the one feedback I got from my friends (or various onlookers to my art) was that he wasn't different enough from Jazz and I hadn't diverged enough to make him my own character. With his revision in 2021 (and everyone else) I have attempted to try and move as far away from the Transformers inspiration as possible.

'Rock and Roll Wiz' and communication assistant, Soundtrack is known for stopping the enemy in their tracks by blowing out their audio receptors with music from around the Universe. As a communications specialist, he can translate over 10,000 different languages from the known planets in the galaxy. Later stationed on Duplaflex under [[Gaxator]] he provides communication expertise to the entire team. Friendly, joyful, and fun Soundtrack does what he can to keep the grooves moving and the bases rocking.

When I originally drew him back in 1990, the one feedback I got from my friends (or various onlookers to my art) was that he wasn't different enough from Jazz and I hadn't diverged enough to make him my own character. In his downtime, he enjoys surfing on Earth's beaches and catching bad drivers on the highways. On the battlefield is a formable sniper with the ability to disable enemies with a single shot.

In my stories, Slide would be the one character I would ride in when I just wanted to 'blend in' into the scenario. I don't know why but I could picture myself just riding along, enjoying a nice Sunday drive in him. I always liked the car design especially with Prowl, which was the second Transformer I ever owned.

Slick is a strong warrior on the battlefield usually standing next to his brother [[Timetravel]]. Where [[Timetravel]] will be concerned about his appearance and how he is perceived, Slick is more than comfortable sitting back and letting [[Timetravel]] put his robotic foot into his audio output device, laughing along the way. Determined but noble Slick will do anything to aid a fellow Zapbot on the battlefield, putting his own spark on the line several times. A little wild and reckless at times, he sometimes will hesitate when given an order.

At first, Pliers was a bit offended when it was discovered that Tiremarks had alternate romantic persuasion programming. However once Tiremarks was attacked by a group of unknown Zapbots he realized the error in his programming and apologizes.

====Planet G====
Pliers oversaw the refit and upgrade of Fortress Misslemax. When the team brought aboard a specimen from space, he was there to help repair individuals as Dinosaurs ran amuck on Fortress Misslemax. He also equipped Vision with special weapons to stun the Dinosaurs quickly and painlessly.

====Robot Trek I====
Pliers worked with the Build Team to help repair Fortress Misslemax after the Nonocons emerged. During the battle, Repairs was getting frustrated but thanks to Botimus Prime he helped corral the team to work together to solve the problem. During the following battle, Boaty and Flier's bodies were destroyed and Pliers worked fearlessly to put them back together.

====Robot Trek II====
Pliers and Roberta discuss getting married which would be the first for the Zapbots. Pliers become threatened when Roberta gets 'cold feet' claiming she is seeing another Zapbot. However thanks to Bop and Speedy's help they finally resolve to go ahead with the engagement in the end. During the sabotage on Fortress Misslemax from Tonta Pliers is trapped with Speedy and Bop in the warp core. Using his skills he is able to rebuild Bop's leg so he could transform and blast their way to safety.

====Robot Trek III====
Pliers oversee the crew after the attack of the Nonocons and sadly is unable to save Spacedust.

====Robot Trek IV====
Pliers discover that Boaty's logical programming is within Flier and if they could recover the body they could bring him back to life.

====Robot Trek V====
Pliers helped to keep the stolen Nonocon ship together during the time warp. He also discovers the energy crystals are drained after they warp back in time to Ancient Gearatron.

====The Wrath of Sliphead====
Pliers is able to save Sliphead from destruction and restore him to normal functioning status.

====Mystery====
Pliers worked with Repairs to try and figure out what is setting explosions off all over Fortress Misslemax. He also repairs Speedy so he can help the Tech Team with the investigation.

====Epilogue====
Pliers help to repair the ship after Fortress Misslemax and the Gongo ship get stuck in a frozen wormhole.

====The Fall and Rebirth of Gearatron====
Pliers and Repairs discover the new firepower of the Nonocons.

My version of Ratchet (although also inspired somewhat by Rest-Q as I had that toy), I always figured he would be a mixture of Scotty and Bones in personality. He's pretty integral for many of the stories. In my original comics I drew when I was younger, he was created with the original batch, unlike 'just being there' when I show up in Hero.

It is to be noted that he absolutely hates his alternate mode since he is the first they call to transfer human diplomats.

Hot Shot

One of the youngest Zapbots to come off the assembly line, Hot Shot is a no-nonsense fighter who is upfront and honest about his thoughts and feelings. Seemingly unaware of the universe around him at times he had a habit of not knowing when to close his audio transmitters. This tends to put him and his fellow comrades in precarious situations. However, he is a fantastic fighter coming off the battlefield with barely a scratch. He hangs out with his often hyper buddy [[Vision]], and the old cantankerous [[Rup]] who he is constantly always nagging him for his secret origin story.

My version of 'Hot Rod' was created long before Hasbro decided to have a character in the Armada cartoon called 'Hot Shot'. Guess I could sue but um... my drawing in 1990 probably wouldn't hold up in court.

Hologram is both warrior and a nature enthusiast. He doesn't like war but is adamant about protecting organic life, especially on Earth. If needed he would sacrifice his own life for the cause. His ability to project 3 dimension holograms allows him to provide excellent deception of the enemy on the battlefield. He has also known to use it from time to time to perform the best practical jokes on the crew.

Heavy is ever the optimist when it comes to construction. Known for helping to reconstruct several Zapbot cities on Gearatron and was crucial in the plans for both Duplaflex's and Fortress Misslemax's construction. An artist by spark he absolutely despises war and will do anything he can to stay out of it. Hangs out with his buddy [[Pull-Along]] as between the two minds they have been known to create some pretty amazing statues.

If you're looking for in-depth details about conspiracy theories look no further than Flash. Voted 'most paranoid Zapbot of 2013' he generally is found getting on everyone's nerves at parties. Even with all of his paranoid thinking, the problem is that Flash generally does his homework and tends to be accurate 65% of the time. [[Shortstop]]/[[Anthony]] himself will generally ask him to help with research when needed. Beyond that he is strict, no-nonsense security who gets the job done, if not with a little bit of nagging. His companion [[First-Fire]] seems to be the only Zapbot that can understand him and will work with him side-by-side to help take care of environmental issues on the battlefield.

If you want a great sniper you call Crackshot to get the job done. One of the few female military Zapbots Crackshot with a strong independent female attitude, Crackshot likes to go solo. Known to be occasionally sitting in the back of the room Cloud can be somewhat of a loner. A Zapbot addicted to electric Energon he tends to stink up the place both on and off the battlefield. However, he is a master of distraction and is known for creating diversions to distract the enemy or provide a method of escape with his ability to produce massive amounts of smoke. When he is in a company that can stand his bad habit, he is viewed as funny and likable but known to go too far with a joke sometimes.

A mostly positive Zapbot, Camper is always looking on the bright side although he takes a more serious tone when in the battle to protect his friends and family. A practical joker he considers himself a setback to the others during skirmishes. Technically considered an outgoing introvert to others, he prefers to have the occasional moment of silent reflection and then turns around and tells a hilarious joke. His force field abilities have come in handy with numerous battles providing coverage from enemy fire. Camper helps [[Overload]] and [[Rup]] maintain security on [[Fortress Misslemax]].

Wheels was recently discovered to be in hiding for many years in Central Columbus. A pacifist he prefers to just transport humans from one location to the other and watch the birds at nearby parks. When he is on Gearatron he spends his time in virtual recreation decks playing many hours of adventure-type games. His wheels have magnetic properties which allow him to hurl them at oncoming enemies and return to his side (eg: Captain America's shield.)

Jason drove a 1989 Mercury Marquis in college so decided to Zapbotize his car.

The personal protector of Anthony's family, he helps Mr. Anselmo with his produce deliveries.

While not a fighter of any sort, Speedy is an excellent spy and is used to provide routine recon towards enemy locations. Speedy has the best optical sensors of any Zapbot which allows him to see items hundreds of miles away if needed. Small, and impulsive, he will usually be the one who asks the most basic questions no one else is willing to ask. He spends most of the time with his brother [[Timetravel]] who is constantly trying to cheer him up from his various depression episodes that occur from time to time.

At the annual mini-vehicles baseball game, Speedy struck out. Depressed and frustrated with his lack of abilities he requested his optical sensors to be removed for some sort of weapons. However strange explosions started to happen around Fortress Misslemax and only Speedy could see a bright light before they occurred. Speedy's special optical vision helped to determine where bombs were placed around Fortress Misslemax and solve the mystery before Misslemax was blown to pieces.

Speedy was meant to represent the obsessive 'whiny' side of my personality. At least, that was the original intention but as time went on he became the 'fan-voice' of the show (kinda like how Seven of Nine was in Voyager.) Inspired by Bumblebee who I always felt should have some sort of weapon, I at least gave Speedy hand lasers. His personality was really fleshed out in the [[Mystery]] story/

A great resource in battle, Soar's only major shortcoming is his ability to remain silent. Excellent at ariel maneuvers Soar can outflank any enemy with the slightest ability. However, His carelessness at times has put him in the repair more than once. Extremely hyper and wild Soar can be a real monkey wrench in the gears of the other Zapbots.

Not the first to enter battle, Sand prefers to remain a scout and leave the fighting up to the bigger guys. He has excellent reconnaissance skills especially when it comes to escaping the scene. A pacifist he prefers to be left alone playing volleyball on Earth's beaches with fellow aliens of all types. Known amongst the team as the director of 'coolness.'

Smokey can repair anything. Getting him to throw stuff out is the hard part. He will find numerous small items that anyone else will miss making him somewhat of a detective. He has been a field medic in numerous battles providing aid to those on and off the battlefield. In his spare time, he will visit human antique shops where he can adequately fit into the building, and sometimes even when that's not possible.

Flier was intended to be the light-hearted character to balance Boaty. When Boaty would be taking things too seriously, Flier would be the one to bring things down to reality. He mimicked Boaty's design somewhat till later years when his design started to diverge. Flier was more or less my 'light-hearted' side of my personality. Preferring to be left alone to contemplate the meaning of one's inner-spark, Carry-On doesn't enjoy the company of others. Carry-On's attitude is always one of negativity, which is why other Zapbots tend to leave him alone. A sturdy warrior in battle, Carry-On is hardly noticed unless there is something wrong of which he will speak his mind. Some have indicated that he occasionally is seen planting seeds in desert terrain for fun, but he has since denied any such activity. He is also an accomplished keyboardist who plays with his brother [[Pick-Up]] as a duo.

Boaty was the first Zapbot I ever drew and was basically my version of 'Data/Spock' in the series. He's the steadfast advisor who is always there, very protective, calm, collective under any circumstance. He was one of the most prolific characters in the series. His name was quite mocked by my friends throughout college as a running gag.

Although he was a motorboat all Zapbots had an [[Alternate Flight Mode]] which allowed him to do more than just water.

The Real Story

=The Story=

When I was young, I like many Gen-Xers adored Sci-Fi TV shows such as Transformers, Robocop, and Star Trek. Loving to draw and styling myself an "artist", I started to draw my own characters and write fan fiction loosely based on The Transformers television show. During my teenage years, I created over 160 different characters and wrote numerous stories about their world inside my head. They were the Zapbots, a variation on The Transformers with subtle inclusions of Star Trek storylines. The drawings, artwork and stories were my distraction and survival--my outlet of growing up in the 80's and 90's.

When I reached college in 1994 the majority of this work was placed quietly on a shelf as my academic studies occupied the majority of my attention and time. The Zapbots were occasionally brought out to show my references to perspective drawing or used as an inside joke amongst my college friends. On occasion, my references would be included in my artwork during my course work, but I had grown disinterested in Transformers by my early twenties. I slowly transitioned into other interests and priorities in life.

=Parody Idea=

Around 1998 South Park came onto the air. I was an instant fan of the show and the parody concept. I loved the use of colorful paper-collage, cheap animation, peppered with intelligent humor, and liberal views. I bought their T-shirts, saw the movie three times, and up until the 2000 Oscars thoroughly enjoyed the show.

I must also note that I have been a diehard Phil Collins fan. I have every album, every bootleg created, and numerous recordings of him on video. I was and, (to a certain degree) am still a fanatic. At this venture in my life, Phil Collins represented to me the average individual who enjoyed what he did but constantly got made fun of for being who he was. We were kindred spirits. I continuously endured numerous taunts and ridicule from individuals from high school and throughout college and beyond. I found myself defending my musical tastes in a time in my life where I was obsessed with what everyone thought of my nascent talent and I took my music quite serious--almost too serious.

The highlight of this period of my life was when Phil was asked to do the soundtrack for Disney's Tarzan. The movie and its soundtrack was the pinnacle of my redemption for my tastes amongst my friends, co-workers, and the world. My life was built around Phil's persona and I related to him just a little too much--but hey, I was a fan and there are far worse things to be interested in.

That was until Phil Collins won the Oscar for Best Song, beating out Trey Parker and Matt Stone for the South Park Movie. I knew Phil would soon be a target for Trey and Matt's parodying humor. This caused me much turmoil. Now the battle I had endured during my youth not only resurfaced but took on a global audience. No more than four weeks passed before South Park debuted a new episode where they completely bastardized Phil Collins, taking every cheap pot-shot they could to make fun of him.

Compared to today, where I am a bit more relaxed, more confident, and possessive of a "don't give a damn" attitude, this "attack" on a personal hero was like a massive punch to the gut, if not including a swift kick to the balls.

I thoroughly enjoyed South Park, but I adored Phil Collins, and I lost all respect for the show. I promptly took down all my posters, burned my mouse pad, and threw everything but the sticky foam book out.

I was frustrated but felt I had no recourse. I posted to message boards. I faxed Comedy Central, and I did everything I could to get noticed to proclaim that "Phil Collins deserved that award!" I perhaps took Phil's slight too personally; however, by attacking Phil Collins they had attacked me and everything I stood for.

A positive side effect of all my frustration was it allotted me much creativity. In between jobs and having a lot of free time on my hands, I was playing around with FLASH animation.

Then came my moment of pure imagination.

Why not create a parody of Transformers in the same cartoon style as South Park.

Suddenly I had a new idea for my Zapbots. Instead of trying to be serious (of which numerous friends of mine shrugged off that idea as 'being done before') why not make it comical.

It took a week of numerous nights late at the keyboard before I structured a pretty decent [https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/3806|Flash Animation] featuring my Zapbots going to save Phil Collins. The animations were crude, there was no sound except for music and sound effects, and the plot was as bad as South Park could be. But it was fun, I was creating art and it gave me a chance to sharpen my experience of FLASH, which helped me in numerous jobs going forward.

I posted the animation to newgrounds.com and various Transformers fan boards. The reaction was almost instantaneous. Individuals from around the globe, some as far as New Zealand either loved or hated my little animation. In a very short time, the Zapbots had become somewhat famous on the Internet.

The moment of glory finally came when Phil Collins had a very successful Farewell Tour visiting Columbus, where I got the opportunity to get his attention during the show with my personally designed SouthPark shirt which had him bashing Cartman over the head with his Oscar. There’s a whole story to that night which you can read [[Phil|here]].

My fifteen minutes of fame faded but I found rebirth in creating a Transformers Podcast (TFormers.com) and numerous fans of the show remember my Zapbots animation. Since then I have started watching South Park again. I ponder if I had more time, more energy, and maybe some voice actors I could have possibly had the next Homestar Runner. Alas, I let the idea die down again and once again my Zapbots were put into the confines of my closet and my computer drive for a while.

=Rebirth=

Recently I started to revisit these old drawings. A friend of mine who was a fan of my Podcast inquired about them and I started to pull out all the various sketches I had drawn.

Besides being amazed at the amount of work I created in my youth I was actually surprised at the vastness of my imagination. There was a “Story” here, and it was actually not half bad. While a lot of the ideas were lifted from Transformers the stories were not. It was a whole saga I had created in my head and it was pretty darn good for someone 14-18 years old!

Since I had gained some fans based on my work in the Transformers Podcast field, there might be a way to actually present these ideas now. There is a forum for the stories and concepts fmy younger self had those many moons. I now have the ability to share them with those who would most appreciate them.

So this explains the purpose of this wiki. To provide the most basic information about the stories and ideas I had in my head from my youth. As well as the ability to publish the numerous drawings in numerous sketch books and pieces of paper that rendered many color pencil kits to nubs. I now present to you the world, the story of the Zapbots in their original format (with minor spelling and grammar corrections). This is all the original art, and soon the original stories and maybe this can be somewhat of an alternative view of The Transformers. If per chance Hasbro was run by a 14 year at the time.

Wow how the years tend to fly by. It's now 2020, and with a bit more time on my hands due to the CoronaVirus bullshit, I picked up the iPad and started drawing again.

With this I decided to started trying to catalog all the Zapbots again. I got so far with this, so I am going to try and at least get the information uploaded to the Wiki for historical purposes.

Loving to draw and styling myself an "artist", I started to draw my own characters and write fan fiction loosely based on The Transformers television show. During my teenage years, I created over 160 different characters and wrote numerous stories about their world inside my head. They were the Zapbots, a variation on The Transformers with subtle inclusions of Star Trek storylines. The drawings, artwork and stories were my distraction and survival--my outlet of growing up in the 80's and 90's.

When I reached college in 1994 the majority of this work was placed quietly on a shelf as my academic studies occupied the majority of my attention and time. The Zapbots were occasionally brought out to show my references to perspective drawing or used as an inside joke amongst my college friends. On occasion, my references would be included in my artwork during my course work, but I had grown disinterested in Transformers by my early twenties. I slowly transitioned into other interests and priorities in life.

=Parody Idea=

Around 1998 South Park the TV show came onto the air. I was an instant fan of the show and concept. I loved the colorful show of paper-collage, cheap animation, with intelligent humor, and liberal views. I bought the T-shirts, saw the movie three times, and up to the point of the Oscars 2000 thoroughly enjoyed the show.

It should also be noted that I have always been an extreme Phil Collins fan. I have every album, every bootleg possible and numerous recordings of him on video. I was (and still am somewhat) a fanatic. At this venture in my life Phil Collins represented to me the average individual who enjoyed what he did, but constantly got made fun of for being who he was. I always endured numerous taunts and ridicule from individuals from High School through-out College and on. I found myself defending my musical tastes in a time in my life where I was always obsessed with what everyone thought and I took my music seriously, almost too serious. The highlight of this was when Phil was asked to do the Tarzan sound track for Disney. The movie and the soundtrack were the pinnacle to me of redemption for my tastes amongst my friends, co-workers and the world. My life was built around his persona and I related to him just a little too much, but hey… I was a fan, and there are worse things to be interested in.

That was until Phil Collins won the Oscar for best song, beating out Trey Parker and Matt Stone for the Southpark Movie.

"Crap, Matt and Trey are now going to make fun of him!" I thought.

This caused me much unrest. Now the battle I had to endure during my younger years not only came back to me, but was now exploded on a global level.

Not more than four weeks later they debuted a new show where they completely bastardized Phil Collins, taking every cheap pot-shot they could to make fun of him.

At the present stage in my life (going on 45), stuff like this doesn’t bother me. I’m a bit more relaxed, more confidant and posses a bit more of the ‘I Don’t Give a Darn’ syndrome. But at that time in my life, this was like a massive punch to the gut, if not including a swift kick to the balls.

I enjoyed South Park, but I LOVED Phil Collins, and now South Park which up to that point I had respected had basically gone and did a ‘Wahhh it’s not fair we’re going to be dicks about it’ show. I promptly took down all my South Park posters, burned my mouse pad and threw everything but the sticky foam book out (that will be worth money someday I hope.)

The most frustrating thing of this of course was I had no recourse. I posted to message boards, I faxed Comedy Central, I did everything I could to get noticed to proclaim that ‘Phil Collins deserved that Award!’ I took this personally, perhaps a bit too personally. By attacking Phil Collins they had attacked me and everything I stood for.

However, with frustration this sometimes leads to creativity!

In between jobs and having a LOT of free time on my hands I was playing around with FLASH animation. Then came a moment of inspiration!

Why not create a parody of Transformers in the same cartoon style as Southpark?

Suddenly I had a new idea for the Zapbots. Instead of trying to be serious of which numerous friends of mine shrugged off as ‘been done before’, why not make it comical?

It took a week but numerous nights late at the keyboard I structured a pretty decent [https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/3806|Flash Animation] featuring my Zapbots, going to save Phil Collins from the South Park kids. The animations were crude, there was no sound except for music and sound effects, and the plot was as bad as South Park could be. But it was fun, I was creating art and it gave me a chance to sharpen my experience of Flash, which helped me in numerous jobs going forward.

I posted the animation to newgrounds.com and various Transformers fan boards. The reaction was almost instantaneous. Individuals from around the globe, some as far as New Zealand either loved or hated my little animation. In a very short time the Zapbots had become somewhat famous on the Internet.

The moment of glory finally came when Phil Collins had a very successful Farewell Tour visiting Columbus, where I got the opportunity to get his attention during the show with my personally designed SouthPark shirt which had him bashing Cartman over the head with his Oscar. My fifteen minutes of fame faded but I found rebirth in creating a Transformers Podcast (TFormers.com) and numerous fans of the show remember my Zapbots animation. Since then I have started watching South Park again. I ponder, if I had more time, more energy and maybe some voice actors I could of possibly had the next Homestar Runner. Alas I let the idea die down again and once again my Zapbots were put into the confines of my closet and my computer drive for a while.

=Rebirth=

Recently I started to revisit these old drawings. A friend of mine who was a fan of my Podcast inquired about them and I started to pull out all the various sketches I had drawn.

Besides being amazed at the amount of work I created in my youth I was actually surprised at the vastness of my imagination. There was a “Story” here, and it was actually not half bad. While a lot of the ideas were lifted from Transformers the stories were not. It was a whole saga I had created in my head and it was pretty darn good for someone 14-18 years old!

Since I had gained some fans based on my work in the Transformers Podcast field, there might be a way to actually present these ideas now. There is a forum for the stories and concepts fmy younger self had those many moons. I now have the ability to share them with those who would most appreciate them.

So this explains the purpose of this wiki. To provide the most basic information about the stories and ideas I had in my head from my youth. As well as the ability to publish the numerous drawings in numerous sketch books and pieces of paper that rendered many color pencil kits to nubs. I now present to you the world, the story of the Zapbots in their original format (with minor spelling and grammar corrections). This is all the original art, and soon the original stories and maybe this can be somewhat of an alternative view of The Transformers. If per chance Hasbro was run by a 14 year at the time.

=Update 2020=

Wow how the years tend to fly by. It's now 2020, and with a bit more time on my hands due to the CoronaVirus bullshit, I picked up the iPad and started drawing again.

With this I decided to started trying to catalog all the Zapbots again. I got so far with this, so I am going to try and at least get the information uploaded to the Wiki for historical purposes.
